Advanced Qualitative Research Methods Training

This course was held as a series of online workshops running over the w/c 16th November 2020. A total of 27 Project X researchers were able to attend, present seminal research collaboratively and engage in group discussion.

The course aimed to:

  • Help students form an understanding of the differences between quantitative and qualitative research

  • Assess the relative strengths and weaknesses of deductive, inductive and abductive forms of theorising

  • Familiarise students with different styles of and approaches to qualitative research, and how these can help in developing new theory

Tutor: Prof Niels Noorderhaven, Tilburg University, Netherlands

Professor Niels Noorderhaven is Professor of International Management, head of the Department of Management and Associate Dean for Internationalisation at Tilburg University, Netherlands. Niels has over 35 years of experience in higher education and research, with a focus on the management of international collaboration between firms and the management of inter-organizational projects.
