Amanda Howells is a consultant in Project and Programme Management, she became the Project X Project Manager in 2018. Prior to this she worked as a Civil Servant with the Infrastructure and Projects Authority, providing analysis on the Government's Major Project Portfolio assurance reviews. She is an experienced programme manager having worked on a number of key departmental programmes for the Office for National Statistics and the Environment Agency. Amanda also has experience of working in the private sector with Ford Motor Company, heading their IT department at a manufacturing site in South Wales. 

Phillippa works alongside leading Project Management scholars in close conjunction with both industry and government as both a Project X Research Associate and Programme Co-ordinator. Phillippa is currently a Doctoral Student at SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit), at Sussex University, under the supervision of Prof Paul Nightingale, Dr Rebecca Vine and Dr Jenny Lieu. Her research is on gender equality within major infrastructure projects. She is currently seconded to the government Department for Transport (DfT)’s Strategic Transport Apprenticeship Taskforce (STAT) as a Policy Advisor, where she is co-producing research with organisations including TfL, HS2, Network Rail, and Heathrow.
